The annual Head of the Ohio Regatta is held on the first Saturday and Sunday in October each year.

The race is actually on the Allegheny River rather than the Ohio River.

About the Event:

The Head of the Ohio is  a classic fall head race held along the banks of downtown Pittsburgh on the Allegheny River. It’s a 2.8-mile race that attracts about 2,000 athletes from over 100 organizations around the USA, as well as Canada.
